1. Program Overview

Identifies and cultivates outstanding laboratories in the fields of core technology that will be key elements for national competitiveness. This strategic national R&D program maintains and develops the core technologies that can be the common basis for many industries and products. It also supports efficient utilization of the science and technology resources in industry, academia, and research institutes throughout the nation.

 

Annual Grant: US $200,000 - 300,000 for each NRL

 
Duration of Support: up to 5 years
 
2006 Plan: Total available fund of US$ 38.2 million

Extent of Funding
 
Annual Grant : US$200,000-300,000 for each NRL
Duration of Support : up to 5 years. After 3 years, 2 nd phase support is decided after appraisal (Upon evaluation, lower 20% is excluded from further support).

To secure technology for common industrial resources, establish exclusive technology through intensive investment, and in turn, become a country of advanced technology.
